Ihram Preparation
Before leaving Makkah, the hajj rituals start by wearing the ihram cloth. It is a white unstitched cloth for men, whereas women are bound to cover themselves with modest clothing. The pilgrims declare an intention to perform the Hajj with devotion and start reciting the Talbiyah.
Mina, Arafat, Muzdalifah
The pilgrims move to Mina to start Hajj rituals on 8th of Dhul Hijja after Fajr prayer or after sunrise and stay there till Fajr prayer of 9th of Dhul Hijja. On 9th of Dhul Hijja after Fajr prayer or sunrise, pilgrims move to the Arafat for Waqoof-e-Arafat and stay there until Maghrib prayer time and continue to make dua. 09th of Dhul Hijja is the main day of Hajj. If you miss Arafat stay due to any reason your hajj is not valid. Then, after sunset, pilgrims move to Muzdalifah, where they have to spend the night under the open sky. On 10th of Dhul Hijja pilgrims leave Muzdalifah for Mina and complete stoning of Big Jamarah, then Slaughter of animal followed by head shaving or trimming hair and then move on to Makkah to perform Tawaf and Sai. After that pilgrims have to come back to stay in Mina and complete the stoning ritual of all three Jamarahs on 11th and 12th of Dhul Hijja before coming back to Makkah after completion of Hajj rituals. Pilgrims have to perform Farewell Tawaf before leaving Makkah to Medinah or their home country.
